Dougherty Dozen Net Worth

Dougherty Dozen Net Worth Update

It’s been a little over a year since I last updated you all on the net worth of the Dougherty Dozen – my extended family of 12 cousins plus myself. If you’re not familiar with our story, we’re all first cousins who grew up in rural Pennsylvania. We range in age from 23 to 37, and we all still live within an hour’s drive of each other.

In 2016, we made a pact to get our finances in order and start working towards financial independence. Since then, we’ve made great progress! Here’s an update on where we stand today.

Cousin Kate: $50,000

Kate is the youngest of the Dougherty Dozen, and she’s also the only one who isn’t employed full-time. She’s currently working as a nanny and taking classes part-time at the local community college. Kate has made great progress in her student loan debt and has cut her expenses significantly by moving back in with her parents.

Cousin John: $85,000

John is a software engineer who moved to California for his job a few years ago. He’s doing well in his career and has recently been promoted to a manager position. John doesn’t have any debt and he’s been diligently saving and investing for his future.

Cousin Rachel: $100,000

Rachel is a nurse who just bought her first house this year. She has a small mortgage and some student loans, but she’s already started making extra payments to get rid of her debt as quickly as possible. Rachel doesn’t have much saved for retirement yet, but she’s hoping to catch up soon.

Cousin Matt: $120,000

Matt is a high school teacher and coach who just got married last year. He and his wife have a combined income of around $120,000 per year. They don’t have any debt except for their mortgage, and they’re working hard to save for their future together.

Conclusion

It’s been really inspiring to see the progress my cousins have made over the past few years! Even though we’re all at different stages in our lives, we’re all working hard to reach our financial goals. I’m excited to see where we’ll all be this time next year!
